Description


Responsible for the proper application, technical support, and quoting of Franklin industrial control products, including packaged pump systems. Acts as a technical liaison to sales and marketing.

Key Responsibilities


  • Communicate with customers and the internal sales team to gather necessary project information and select appropriate products.
  • Create detailed customer-facing quotes for Engineered-To-Order (ETO) products. Create and use internal software tools and processes to reduce ETO quoting time.
  • Expand Configure-To-Order (CTO) product offering. Track and solicit the most requested control options from customers. Add additional CTO options to Franklin Electric’s selection software.
  • Review specifications and drawings for public and private bids. Determine bid feasibility, prepare product selections, and list exemptions if required. Prepare submittals for end user review.
  • Work with the design team to produce technical resources such as drawings, product weights, materials of construction, etc. to fulfill customer requests. Maintain shared technical resource library.
  • Act as a technical resource for customers and intercompany personnel. Assist in the creation of presentations and training material.
  • Assist with root cause analysis for failures on returned merchandise.
  • Work with product management to understand product changes and upcoming product launches.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

  • Frequently makes decisions of both minor and major importance, which may affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele to a moderate degree.
  • Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.
  • Uses complex and noncomplex machines and equipment.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related field (required).
  • 1 or more years of relevant experience in motor controls, electronics, or a related field (preferred).
Computer Skills
  • Advanced: PTC Creo (preferred), PTC Windchill (preferred), AutoCAD Electrical (preferred), Oracle E1 (preferred)
  • Basic: Word processing, PowerPoint presentation, Excel spreadsheet, Alpha-numeric data entry.
TRAVEL
  • 10-15%
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
  • Engineer in Training License (Fundamentals of Engineering) (preferred).

    • Occasionally required to stand and walk.
